A few years ago, Joanna and I stood in the middle of a snow-covered forest in Promised Land, Pennsylvania.
The trees were bare, our boots sank into the ice, and we had just taken possession of a patch of land that would eventually become Ferncrest.
There were no tents, no guests, no blueprint… just our vision for what this place could become and a lot of hard questions.
We didn’t know exactly how it would come together, but we knew one thing: if we waited for perfect conditions, it would never happen.
That winter was when Ferncrest was truly born. Not in spring when the grass came back… but months prior when we started planning, ordering, and building.
Before the noise of the holidays
Before the bookings would come pouring in
And even before the new year even began
The same thing goes for anyone looking to start something in 2026… your success next year starts now.
