When we bought the rundown campground that would eventually become Ferncrest, most people thought we were crazy. The bathhouses were falling apart, the septic systems were a nightmare, and the cabins looked more like fire hazards than guest accommodations.
But underneath all of that, we saw potential.
We saw a chance to create something that would let people reconnect with nature while also giving our family the freedom and independence we were craving. We didn’t have all the answers back then—we just started, learned along the way, and built Ferncrest into what it is today.
Here’s the thing: if we had waited until we felt “ready,” Ferncrest wouldn’t exist. And we’d still be stuck dreaming instead of doing.
