Whether or not you can join us for the event next week, in this email we wanted to outline ‘Five Steps to Building a Profitable Glampground’ – all tried and tested by us!
Step 1: Smart Land Acquisition
- Get land for a steal, like our $10K down deal at Ferncrest. Regardless of the purchase price, how much cash you outlay is even more important as you pursue your glamping dreams, because remember, preserving cash is crucial. If you have existing land that is not being utilized, even better!
Step 2: Cash Flow is King
- Start lean, but think big. Invest in quality tents and amenities but kickstart bookings ASAP. You can even start bookings before you are finished with your build! We used this to generate nearly $100K in cash before we opened our glampground. To do so, use effective marketing, social media and PR to drive excitement and bookings.
Step 3: Embrace Technology for Low Overhead
- Cut down labor costs by leveraging technology. Use digital tools for virtual check-ins, check-outs, and customer service. Technology isn’t just a cost-saver; it’s a game-changer!
Step 4: Revenue Boosters
- Add things like a self-checkout store – minimal effort, maximum gain. Again, let technology take the lead (don’t waste money on labor!). Every penny saved is a penny earned!
Step 5: Perception is Everything
- Understand what guests value and deliver it cost-effectively. This is key: the guest doesn’t care how much you spent, they care about how they feel! Create an unforgettable experience without breaking the bank. This strategy and mindset ensures you will still have strong Average Daily Rates (ADR) and occupancy rates without spending nearly as much as higher budget operations (meaning more profit and cash flow for you!).
Remember, building a profitable glampground isn’t just about investment; it’s about smart investment. Follow these steps to chase your dreams and watch your glamping business thrive like Ferncrest has!
Happy Glamping!
