Ferncrest Acadia Opens August 1 – and You Can Be Part of It

Three years ago, Ferncrest was nothing more than an idea. A vision born from a rundown motel, an abandoned campground, and the belief that outdoor hospitality could be done differently. Now, we’re opening our third Ferncrest location – and it’s our second official franchise to open their doors.

That alone feels surreal.

But what really makes this one special is how it’s happening. It’s not just us doing the work anymore. It’s someone else taking the Ferncrest torch and running full-speed with it.

That someone is Caleb Scott, the franchisee behind Ferncrest Acadia, opening August 1 in the coastal woods of Maine.

Watching Caleb and his team (including his sister!) build this from the ground up has been like watching a master class in resilience. The expected (and unexpected) setbacks followed by the sheer determination – it’s been incredible to witness. And it reminds me of what this franchise model is all about:

Giving passionate, hardworking people the blueprint to build something meaningful – in nature, in business, and in life.

This week, we’re not diving deep into tactics. We’re celebrating.

But we’re also piloting something worth sharing with you – especially if you’re interested in the marketing mechanics behind opening a glampground.

The Ferncrest Acadia Founder Pass

To support this launch, we’re trying something new: a Founder Pass.

For $35, early fans of the property can:

  • Get 72-hour early booking access before the general public
  • Receive 20% off their stay
  • Enjoy exclusive Founder’s-only perks and swag

We’re using this as a soft launch mechanism – both to reward early supporters and to generate early buzz. Based on the success, it will be something we deploy for future glampground launches moving forward.

But there’s more to take away from this process and what we are doing here:

We’ve also been running targeted paid ads around Maine and New England to drive traffic to this offer.

Ads that look like this:

I’m sharing this mainly for educational purposes (so you can learn the marketing tricks behind launching a property), but if you want to support this launch, you can grab your own Founder Pass here:

Psst… If marketing experiments like this interest you, reply and let me know – we can break down the strategy behind it in a future newsletter. I geek out and love this type of stuff and would love to share more if there is interest.

We’ll have a full behind-the-scenes recap coming soon. But for now, we’re just feeling proud, grateful, and excited to see more Ferncrests come to life.

Happy Glamping,

Brian & Joanna Linton
