There are aluminum strips that they come with that can be screwed down on top of the bottom edge to provide extra seal, however, we have found that the thick vinyl screwed directly to the wood provides a very tight seal that does not allow water or critters in.  You can also add a screen under the decking to prevent bugs coming through any small holes. Alternatively you can install an impervious floor on top of the deck if you’d like a more finished look in your dome (ie put a vinyl floor down in the dome... we have done this at Ferncrest™ and it looks great).

No we don’t and would not recommend it but you can if you’d like to.  Even if you don’t plan on using it, you can leave it up in the winter.  However, they can be easily taken down and moved if you ever need as the assembly is all done with nuts and bolts that come apart.  Note: people love to stay in domes in the winter and we would recommend exploring renting it out year round!

Ultimately, you can get a full dome tent built in less than a day, but likely you could do 2-3 tents in 1 day with the right guidance (which we will be providing to you with much more detailed directions and videos for this specific tent type).  If you compare this build time to a cabin or another type of structure, you can see how the economics of domes are very favorable as you won’t experience bloated labor costs. We recommend having 3 people to build a tent.

Profitability is excellent. We are getting an average of more than $300 per night for our domes (which do not even have bathrooms in them). The dome tent is by far the most profitable tent type despite being a higher upfront investment than more basic glamping tents.

We recommend choosing from either a 5m, 7m, or 9m dome. We can certainly do other sizes, but we have found these sizes to cover most needs.  Contrary to what many manufacturers would tell you, our favorite is the smallest, cheapest 5m dome.  But this only works if you are putting them where there is an external bathroom facility, as they would be too small to have an appropriately sized bathroom in the dome.  If you want to have a bathroom or simply more space, the 7m would be your best bet.  This is a much more spacious dome that you could fit a king size bed, a bunkbed, couch, and a bathroom!  Although the diameter may only be 2m more but the square footage goes from 211 sqft to 414 sqft in the 7m (nearly doubles!).  The 9m dome is your option if you want more of a dome home, as this will be large enough to include a kitchen (685 sqft!).
